a brief introduction

Erin Kelly is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual therapy services to adolescents and adults ages 16 and over who are located in the states of Washington, Idaho, and California. Her physical office in Spokane, WA allows for in-person sessions when feasible. In addition, Erin has a robust live Telehealth practice that serves those who prefer Telehealth or who are located in other regions of Washington, California, and Idaho.

Erin is a California native. It was there that Erin began her career path. In 2014, soon after the birth of her first daughter, Erin and her family decided to make Spokane their new home. She loves the beauty of the seasons, enjoys exploring nature, watching the birds, walking her dog, traveling to different regions of this beautiful state, and spending time with her two daughters. She has experience with yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices and incorporates these resources into both her personal and professional lives.

Erin’s prior experience and education

Erin has over 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings, including residential treatment programs and outpatient clinics, both within community-based mental health services and private practice. Prior to her training as a clinician, she worked as a counselor at a specialized camp for children diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety, or Depression. After completing her undergraduate studies at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA in 2003, she was hired by a residential, therapuetic treatment program for adolescents on probation. Erin worked first-hand with the residents and formed trusting relationships. It was the perfect mix of being a warm presence and a coach. This formative experience led Erin back to graduate school. She attended Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino, CA and graduated in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Erin then went on to pursue licensure. In 2008, Erin attained her California license to practice. Since then, Erin has also become licensed in two other states, making her more accessible to more people.

Erin’s Current Practice

Erin’s practice and passion began with her work with adolescents, young adults, and their families. While she continues to enjoy working with this population, she has expanded her practice to include adults of all ages. Erin currently sees clients who are 16 years-old and up. She is considered an out-of-network provider, meaning Erin does not bill insurance directly, but is able to provide a superbill for possible insurance reimbursement if a person has out-of-network benefits that they would like to use. All fees are due at the time of service. Length of sessions range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the treatment plan and the type of therapy being provided.

It's like growing lotus flowers. You cannot grow lotus flowers on marble. You have to grow them on the mud. Without mud you cannot have lotus flowers. Without suffering, you have no way to learn how to be understanding and compassionate. —Thich Nhat Hanh
